Opis Stanowiska:
The post will be for a fixed term contract of 7 months to cover a maternity replacement.The successful candidate will contribute to the EIB’s relations with Civil Society in the framework of the Bank’s Transparency policy, in order to maintain and enhance the Bank’s reputation and accountability, thus promoting also its operational activities.
She/he will provide information about the Bank’s environmental activities to public stakeholder groups.
She/he will maintain external contacts with NGOs and other CSOs, think tanks, colleagues in other EU institutions and International Financing Institutions (IFIs), and with interested citizens. External contacts, in particular with Civil Society, will be numerous, also including missions, when the Civil Society Communication Officer must be able to operate autonomously.
Od kandydatów oczekujemy:
- Actively reach out to Civil Society, in particular NGOs and other CSOs, including developing networks with them;
- Coordinate and handle complex requests for information in own domain from NGOs and other CSOs as well as from external stakeholders and help answering enquiries arriving at the Infodesk;
- Monitor daily, in coordination with other Bank services, complex projects in own domain and environmental and social issues with potential reputation risk for the Bank;
- Participate in the organisation of EIB public consultation processes;
- Coordinate the organisation of the In-house Awareness and Capacity Building Programme on the Bank’s relations with CSOs;
- Actively participate in organising presentations to the public on the EIB’s environmental operations and policies, as well as on other topics of interest to the Civil Society (in particular social and environmental issues);
- Draft reports on the Bank’s disclosure activities, Briefing Notes on projects of a certain complexity for internal purposes and, whenever relevant, Topical Project Briefs for the EIB website, as well as brochures;
- Stay abreast of current events, activities and trends with potential impact on the Bank and provide advice and recommendations on promotional, communication and public information issues in order to help the Bank to reach its objectives.

Oferujemy:
- University degree, preferably in politics, international relations, social sciences, public relations, or environmental or development economics;
- At least 3 years of professional experience in an EU institution or IFI, corporate or Civil Society Organisation;
- Very good understanding of the Civil Society sector and excellent knowledge of transparency/public disclosure issues and relevant EU Regulations;
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
- Good knowledge of environmental and social issues;
- Very good understanding of the EIB mission and activities;
- Understanding of the Bank’s decision-making and operational activities;
- Knowledge of development economics, financial markets and the banking sector;
- Good knowledge of EU environmental policies, and the Union’s institutional structure;
- Thorough knowledge of standard office tools;
- Fluent in English and/or French and a working knowledge of the other.
