Opis Stanowiska:

Vacancy is for a more junior person to work initially under supervision of Division Head and/or more senior staff

The successful candidate will carry out EIB operations within the region covered by the Division with private and public sector project promoters. Finance of projects / investments that support EU development and cooperation policies outside the European Union.

S/he will report to the Head of Division and cooperates closely with colleagues working both in the region and in other Directorates, as well as the Regional Representation in South Africa.

Od kandydatów oczekujemy:

  • Contribute to the development of the Bank’s strategy in the region in line with Cotonou objectives and guidelines
  • Implement policies and initiatives in investment operations and make suggestions to improve key operational processes
  • Responsibility for complete project cycle - identifying suitable projects, appraising them, getting them approved and disbursed in order to
  • develop a portfolio of operations (loans/investments)
  • manage overall exposure or concentration of risk
  • ensure an adequate return in relation with the risks taken and developmental objectives of the operation (including detailed analysis of project financial models)
  • and ensure the consistent application of policies
  • Establish and develop business relations with key external parties (e.g. investors, financial institutions, government representatives, local authorities, other EU institutions, etc) in order to develop the project portfolio and acquire new operations, build co-operation and stay abreast of best practice

Mile widziane:

  • Good team worker
  • Analytical skills (including financial modelling) and ability to make sound judgements
  • Good communication skills both oral and written (ability to produce clear and concise reports)
  • Strong interpersonal/negotiation skills
  • Interest or experience in Development
  • Diplomatic skills and ability to manage direct contacts with clients and government officials often at a senior level

Oferujemy:

  • University degree in Finance/Economics or a business related discipline
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the banking, financial or development sector
  • Knowledge of financial analysis as well as experience in credit risk assessment and financial modelling
  • Knowledge of quantitative techniques and tools
  • Knowledge of standard IT tools
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and a good command of French and Portuguese
